(That’s the Boston Marathon) And in addition to all the runners who qualify, there are several who run for a cause (I’ll stick with the bike, as much as I’d like to run, road running and the body don’t get along). Not only do they train, but they also have to fundraise. And it isn’t easy. So, when you see those runners going by wearing their “team” shirts, please cheer loudly and thank them for running.

With that being said, if you are going to the race, please be on the look out for two special runners, my cousins Lindsey and Ashley Weinstein. They are running in their 2nd and first marathons respectively and they are running in honor of their aunt Nancy Wolfson who died over two years ago from ovarian cancer.
As members of the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge team, they are raising money to support the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. The Barr program funds cancer research over the long-term and enables researchers to achieve better cure rates and enhance patients’ quality of life.
Lindsey and Ashley are also running for 6-year-old Patient Partner, Jaden Cabrera. Jaden was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, an uncommon type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma that commonly affects children. Today, Jaden is in remission.
